Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar in running for same role?

Two actors vying for the same project is nothing new, but if the two actors happen to be as big as Akshay Kumar and Ajay Degn, then it's a matter of curiosity.

Last month, some reports had emerged of AK giving the green signal to a film based on the 1989 Raniganj coal disaster. The superstar was supposed to play the role of engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who had masterminded the rescue operation. But now, reports have come of Ajay playing the role in a film to be directed by Tinu Suresh Desai.

However, Jaswant has told Mid-Day that many people from the film industry have approached him. "Several people have approached me, but it would only be limited to calls. I was recently approached on behalf of Ajay Degn's team for the rights, which I have consented to," he told the tabloid.

Ajay and Akshay have clashed earlier as well, when both of them wanted to make films based on the 1897 battle of Saragarhi. This round seems to have gone to Ajay. Over to AK now.
