Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Neeraj Pandey film Aiyaary had a pretty bad start at the ticket windows on its opening day. The espionage thriller managed to rake in a total of Rs 3.36 crore on the first day of its release.
The film, which was first scheduled to hit the theatres on Republic day, had to be delayed twice owing to various reasons. First it was because of the three way clash with Padmaavat and Pad Man, and later owing to the delay in getting it cleared from the CBFC post the screening for the Defense Ministry.
The film has failed to impress both the audience as well as the critics. Aiyaary saw its release in about 1750 screens across the country on Friday, considering that, the opening day figures don't seem impressive at all.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on his Twitter account, "#Aiyaary has a DULL Day 1... Opening day biz is lower than Sidharth Malhotra’s last two films: #AGentleman [₹ 4.04 cr] and #Ittefaq [₹ 4.05 cr]… Evening/night shows were slightly better... Sat and Sun biz is extremely crucial... Fri ₹ 3.36 cr. India biz."
