Casting of an  ensemble cast is never easy and from what we have heard, Anurag Basu is having a hard time in casting stars for his film- the sequel of Life In A Metro

After Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor, there are now rumours of Abhishek Bachchan and Ileana D’Cruz coming on board for the sequel of the 2007 hit film.

According to a report by the Bollywood Bubble, the Manmarziyan actor and the Rustom actress have been roped in for the film.

A source was quoted as saying, “Anurag has launched Ileana and they share a good rapport. So, it’s no surprise that he approached her for this film. She is equally excited for this. However the paper work is yet to happen. Abhishek Bachchan is too being considered for the film and Anurag has given him the narration. He has liked the script.”

The source further stated, “Anurag Basu is currently working on the final edit of the script and simultaneously is also locking the cast. The makers are aiming to release the movie sometime in July-August next year. But the release date isn’t final yet.”

However, Anurag while stating the trouble in casting an ensemble cast, cleared the air and took to Twitter. He wrote, “Casting of an ensemble cast film can only be locked after securing combination dates of all the actors.Bohut mushkil kaam hai,sab ke calendars ek saal ke liye full hain.Aur mein ghode pe sawar hun. Will keep you posted. Final cast will be announced soon.”

We hope that Anurag Basu spills the beans soon on who is going to feature in the sequel.

The prequel was directed by Anurag Basu himself. The film narrated the story of nine people living in Mumbai and dealt with issues like extra-marital affairs, love, heart breaks and modern-day struggles in an urban life. The musical drama set in Mumbai got good response from the audience.

The film had an ensemble cast of Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, Konkona Sen Sharma and Irrfan Khan.
