Aamir Khan has been at the forefront of initiating guidelines for the safety of women in the wake of the #MeToo Movement. So much so that he even backed out of producing a biopic, Mogul based on Gulshan Kumar’s life, when allegations of sexual harassment against director Subhash Kapoor came to light. Now, we have learnt that the superstar is planning an episode on the topic that has taken the country by storm for his show Satyamev Jayate’s next season. The series, which revolves around sensitive social issues, has so far had three seasons, with the last one being aired in October 2014.

Sources say the next season of the show, which is slated to air in January 2019, will open with the episode about the #MeToo Movement. “With several women opening up about sexual harassment at workplaces and otherwise, Aamir wants to throw light on their problems and the issue of their safety. He has told his team to start doing research on it. He will invite the #MeToo survivors to share their horrifying experiences. He will also get some of the alleged accused on the show to present their point of view.” Incidentally, Aamir had launched season one with the controversial topic of female foeticide while the second season’s inaugural episode dealt with rape in India.
