Recently, Canadian tennis player Genie Bouchard created quite a storm on Twitter when she took to the social media site to share the odd way she enjoys a pizza: with soy sauce. However, she is not alone, we quizzed popular faces back home about their odd food combos and here’s what they had to share.

Arjun Bijlani, actor

I love eating Chinese Chicken fried rice with butter chicken. I find the flavours blend very well and it’s a mouth-watering combo.

Rashami Desai, actor

I love eating pani puri with Chinese food. The teekha combination of pani puri complements the Chinese fare.

Vivian Dsena, actor

I eat rasgulla with shuddh malai milk, which is semi-liquid and poured on it. It’s an amazing combination.

Tinaa Dattaa, Actress

I love chocolate brownie with rabdi and some green chilli thrown in. It’s a lethal combination. The flavour makes your tastebuds sing.

Jasmin Bhasin, personality

I eat cheese pizza with butter chicken as chapatis. It’s unusual, but delicious.

Maria Goretti, tv personality

I like dipping my potato wafers in chai. I love the taste of the chip with the sugar of the chai. And the saltiness of the chip in the taste of the chai.

Vicky Ratnani, chef

Spicy carrot pickle on multi-grain toast with peanut butter. I love peanut butter on toast and my grandmum’s carrot pickle. So, I tried it together and got hooked on to it. While the combination of carrots, pickles, and raisins together is classic, a lot of people either love it or hate it.

Sorabh Pant, stand-up comic

I spent a lot of time cooking for myself since I lived alone for a long time. After a point, one just loses his mind and combines anything he has in the fridge. I think I have had cheese with just about anything. I have had cheese with chocolate on bread (melted and otherwise). I have put cheese on a pancake, French Toast. That apart, I remember I was trying to make chai once and by mistake, my sister put salt in it. So, that became the running joke — salt chai — that’s how it’s had in the Northeast, anyway. So, might as well embrace it. Once I ran out of salt in the house and I ended up using soy sauce instead for a week in biryani, French Toast and even in mushrooms. I once tried to make ginger tea and I put it at the wrong time and the chai curdled. So, I tried to turn it into paneer. And I guarantee you, there’s nothing more disgusting than that.
