Priyanka Chopra has not signed any Hindi films since Bajirao Mastani, and her career as a Bollywood producer is flying. She admitted to After Hrs that she’s liked two films, which she begins only after she completes shooting for Quantico 3. Meanwhile, she is planning to produce two Hindi films.

This paper reported that she has two scripts that she wants to produce, one of which is a children’s film. Says a source, “The film is about a few kids and stray dogs. On social media, we have all seen nasty videos of people
attacking harmless stray dogs. PC, who has pets and is emotionally invested in animal welfare, was touched by this beautiful story. She hopes to bring a change in people’s attitude towards strays.”

The problem is that the film requires a prominent female star as the face of the film, even though it revolves around a few children and dogs. An insider reveals, “Priyanka wants a well-known, established top actress to do five-six scenes in the film for the necessary star power. She needs a big name for that, and someone who’ll do the film out of goodwill. She was crushed when she realised that none of the prominent actresses were willing to just do five-six scenes in a film; they want a proper full-fledged movie.”

Priyanka has witnessed top Hollywood stars coming in and just doing few scenes in films, and expected it to be as easy here. Now, she is disappointed. “PC might just end up doing the film herself,” concludes our source.

DOGGY TALES

Priyanka is extremely attached to her pet pooch Diana. So much so that she also runs a separate Instagram account (Diaries of Diana), which has over 32k followers. The story, which is about protecting dogs and preventing ill-treatment of animals, passes on a message that Priyanka vouches for. So it was an easy call for her.

CHILLAR PARTY, DOBAARA?

From what we hear, the story has a striking resemblance to the Nitesh Tiwari film Chillar Party. PC’s pet venture will be a children’s film about dogs. In Chillar Party, too, there was a gang of kids fighting for (literally doing a chaddi morcha) to save a pet dog. Sounds similar, no?

What about Anushka?

We bet Anushka Sharma would be the ideal bet for this role. Her pet, Dude, is one of the most popular dogs on Instagram. Often, the animal lover has expressed her love and attachment for her furry friend. The actress also rooted for a noise-free Diwali last year for the sake of animals. And who can forget her video for Dude when she sang Bulleya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil for her dog.
