83: Ranveer Singh to be trained by the Haryana hurricane Kapil Dev himself?

Ranveer Singh has begun prep for his upcoming film 83. The actor will play the role of Kapil Dev in the movie which will focus on the 1983 World Cup win. The Gully Boy had recently shared an image of him practicing some batting moves when he went for practice at a ground recently. Ranveer was accompanied by his director Kabir Khan and some unexpected fans.

Ranveer will be trained by Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a former cricketer who eventually became a well-known coach. Balwinder played a pivotal role in India winning the World Cup and was also invited at the Gully Boy announcement launch. Not only him, even the legendary Kapil Dev will teach Ranveer some moves!

An informer told Bollywood Life, “Ranveer’s cricket coaching will be with Balwinder Singh Sandhu - also a key member of the 1983 World Cup winning squad. While Sandhu and Ranveer will work rigorously to perfect the game, Ranveer will also train with the legend Kapil Dev! Kapil will coach him to perfect his iconic bowling action and Ranveer will work with him to pick up all his mannerisms on and off the field! We can’t wait to see them together hitting the nets!”

Apart from Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, Ranveer also has Karan Johar’s directorial movie Takht. Karan had recently produced Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba, which went on to become a superhit and is still minting money at the Box Office. Takht will the second movie where Ranveer and Alia Bhatt will appear in the same film post Gully Boy. Takht also boasts of a wide starcast like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
