There could be men with deeper pockets in Bollywood (we surely know some). Yet, when it comes to yielding POWER, three filmmakers do it all and do it well. Their names are ADITYA CHOPRA, KARAN JOHAR and SAJID NADIADWALA.
The reason for their reach is simple. They have the ear of the most influential and biggest stars of Hindi cinema. So, when any of these (or sometimes all of these) guys whistle, stars stop to listen. On any given day, Adi can make a film with the Khan triumvirate — Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh. Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana and Arjun Kapoor are from his stable. Akshay Kumar is scheduled to do a historical with him. Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, too, never miss a call from Yash Chopra’s elder son.
Karan, who grew up as Adi’s best friend, also has the distinction of being able to work with most of the biggies in Bollywood. While Ranbir, Ranveer and Vicky Kaushal look like his current house favourites, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor are also on his speed dial.

Sajid, who has the envious position of being Salman’s best buddy and Tiger’s big daddy, is fortunate to have Akshay and Hrithik as his neighbours and lead actors. Varun Dhawan, Sushant Singh Rajput and Arjun will land up outside his door, should he call. Not to forget, he’s given a Rs 200 cr+ film with Salman, the sequel of which is in the pipeline.
Backed as they are with such ‘power’, these men have become prolific filmmakers, churning out a neat slate of at least half-a-dozen quality films every year — a feat that is hard to match. They also have the ability to hypnotise the talent they work with by mollycoddling actors, launching ambitious projects and delivering on course, every time. With so many attributes in their CV, it is quite natural that these guys are looked upon as the power centres of B-Town.
