It's a 'Khan'tastic collaboration for Kabir Khan's Eid release, Tubelight. As brothers Salman Khan and Sohail Khan play their real life roles in reel too. While the filmmaker initially wanted to sign a superstar in the role of Salman's brother, the actor convinced him that bhaigiri will appear more realistic if his own brother plays the part. The song Nach meri Jaan from tubelight is just sneak peak into bhaihood celebration in the film. So as we await for Tubelight to hit screens, let's take a look at the top 5 collaborations of the Khan brothers, some were hits and some duds.
1. PYAR KIYA TOH DARNA KYA: For this one, Sohail chose to stay behind the cameras as the director of the film, with Salman-Arbaaz on banter on display. But it tops our list for the simple reason, that this 1998 film gave us shirtless superstar dancing to a hit tune. The two brothers are often heard recalling the shoot of Oh Oh Jaane Jaana, when Salman decided to shoot the song without a shirt because the shirt provided by designer didn't fit him and he didn't want to wait and waste time on the sets for a new shirt to arrive. Brother Sohail agreed to it, and we got Bhaijaan flaunting his hot bod wearing only ripped jeans.
2. MAINE PYAR KYON KIYA: Samir and Pyare's love-hate relationship seemed like their sibling rivalry in real life. Salman Khan played the role of a womaniser, caught between two women played by Sushmita Sen and Katrina Kaif, and then there was Sohail Khan's character which added to his troubles. This David Dhawan comedy not only had a song with their face off on the dance floor, Salman and Sohail almost kissed each other for a scene.
3. GOD TUSSI GREAT HO: This Sohail Khan production featured the two brothers in a remake of Hollywood hit, Bruce Almighty. And once again the two brothers were pitted against each other, trying to woo the same girl played by Priyanka Chopra. This film wasn't a successful Khan collaboration, but the song Aksa Beach is still heard on the dance floor.
4. MAIN AURR MRS KHANNA: Sohail Khan's character continued being a troublemaker for yet another film called Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. Not just an actor on sets, Sohail turned producer for this salman-Kareena film too, but it failed at the box office.
5 VEER: When Salman Khan scripted the story of a warrior called Veer, his bhai Sohail played the supporting cast yet again. Bhaihood continued in this one too, with them playing brothers on THE silver screen too. The film was panned by critics and audience alike and was Khans' last film together before Tubelight happened. It will be interesting to see if Kabir Khan's film can give us successful and happy memories of Bhaigiri.
