Box Office: Here's how much Akshay Kumar-Rajinikanth's 2.0 has earned on Day 1 as per early estimates

The much awaited Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 has finally hit the theatres this Thursday. The S.Shankar directorial has opened to mixed reviews by the critics but that becomes inconsequential when it comes to a film that stars Thalaiva Rajinikanth himself. As per early estimates, 2.0 Hindi version has managed to rake in close to Rs 20 crore approx at the box office on day one of its release. While the official figures are still awaited, the estimated numbers are incredible, considering that the film released on a normal working weekday. 

Several reports suggested that the occupancy in the morning shows wasn't impressive. However, as the day progressed, the movie picked up with a positive word of mouth and it managed to gather footfalls at the theatres in good numbers by the evening. Going by the current trend, quite a lot of growth in its numbers is expected towards the weekend. 

As far as the Chennai box office is concerned, 2.0 has emerged as the biggest opener till now as it surpasses Thalapathy Vijay's sarkar in terms of opening day figures. The movie is doing pretty well in Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as well. 

2.0 also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in significant roles. The movie, which is supposedly made on a humongous budget of Rs 600 crore, released on 10500 screens across the globe. Watch this space for the final box office numbers of the film...
