While everyone is going gaga about Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest film Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead, Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating the genuius of Bhansali as his film Black completes 13 years.

Black released on February 4, 2005 and revolves around a blind and deaf girl (played by Rani Mukerji). Her relationship with her relationship with her teacher played by Big B who himself later develops Alzheimer’s disease formed the crux of the award winning film. On 13 years of Black, Big B took to Twitter to cheer for the extraordinary memories, the multiple awards he won for the film and how the greatest compliment came from his idol Dilip Kumar. Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter and wrote, " 13 years of my film Black...an incredble experience. Still haunts me in extraordinary memory and details of working with the genius of SLB...the Bhansali."

The memories of awards coming his way are also fresh in Bachchan's memories...from National Award to IIFA 20115, Amitabh had swept best actor award at every award ceremony that year. He shared candid pictures from that year and tweeted, " And the accloades for the film Black and the recognition never ever fades...humbled honoured and blessed...national award and many others...'

Amitabh Bachchan shared how Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu were impressed with Black. Big B has worked with his idol Dilip Saab in Shakti but it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali film which floored the legendary actor. Big B revealed the 'greatest compliment' he got from Dilip saab after he watched the film. He wrote, "Saira and I were loss for words at the premiere night after the curtains fall down, to express our myriad feelings of admiration for your outstanding performance. It's a pity the film missed the Oscar nomination. If any Indian actor in my opinion deserves the world's most coveted award, it is you."

Last year Bachchan senior took to his blog that he never took salary for Black. He wrote, “I had just wanted to work with Sanjay, after seeing all other works he had done. And when the opportunity came, it was quite overwhelming. I did not take any salary for the film. Just being a part of such an enterprise, was sufficient fees."
