'Dil Bechara' was previously named 'Kizie Aur Manny' behind the two character names. The movie, which is Sushant Singh Rajput's last film, is the HIndi adaptation of 'The Fault In Our Stars'. Sushant was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. While it is reported that the actor died by suicide, a police investigation is ongoing in the matter.

'Dil Bechara' marks Sanjana Sanghi's debut as an actor and Mukesh Chhabra's as a director. The movie also features Sahil Vaid and Saif Ali Khan in pivotal roles. It is slated to release on Disney+Hotstar on July 24, 2020.
