Back in 2012, actor Yami Gautam featured in a film which broke stereotypes. The movie in question is Ayushmann Khurrana's debut film 'Vicky Donor', directed by Shoojit Sircar. The film, produced by John Abraham, was about a guy who donates sperms to help other couples.

Yami, who is now starring in 'Bhoot Police' opposite Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez, had spoken about how she was just auditioning everywhere at that point in time. The actress said it was important because she had no godfather backing her.

"That was a phase when I was auditioning in full swing. At that point of time, I also had the opportunity of a very conventional launch. I was absolutely on my own; every work that I was doing was my stepping stone. There was nobody there to back me," she said at India Today Conclave 2018.

The actress further revealed her and her parents' reaction on reading the script of 'Vicky Donor'. While she was unsure, the actress definitely received an unexpected response from her parents once they read the script of the movie.

Yami had added, "When I auditioned for Vicky Donor, I asked the casting director, ‘What is the film about?’ And she just smiled. When I got the film, that is when I found out. I had to tell my parents. My father asked me what the film is about, and I just handed the script to him. When my parents read it, they said, 'This is so cool'."

Yami Gautam turned 32-year-old today. The actress is having her first birthday under lockdown. She was last seen shooting for 'Bhoot Police'.
