After a long wait, Akshay Kumar has started the shooting for his upcoming film Atrangi Re opposite Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush. Akshay took to his social media account and shared a still on Friday from the film with Sara.

In the picture, Akshay and Sara can be seen laughing with each other as they walk beside each other. For his caption, Akshay wrote, "The joy brought by those three magic words is unmatched: Lights, Camera, Action. Begun shooting for #AtrangiRe by @aanandlrai. Need all your love and best wishes. In addition to Akshay, Sara also shared the same still from their upcoming film and wrote, "AtrangiRe becomes more Rangeen! @akshaykumar so privileged, excited and thankful to be working with you!"

Atrangi Re is a cross-cultural love story. It marks Aanand L Rai's comeback in Bollywood after the 2018 film Zero. The film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif, failed massively at the box office.

For the uninformed, in Atrangi Re, Sara plays a girl from Bihar. She will be romancing Akshay and Dhanush. The film is all set to release on Valentine's Day 2021 but with the shoot being delayed, the release date is also likely to get postponed.

On the work front, Sara is currently looking forward to the release of her film Coolie No. 1 directed by David Dhawan, opposite Varun Dhawan.

Sara will be seen stepping into the shoes of Karisma Kapoor in the remake that originally starred the latter opposite, Govinda. In an interview, Sara had had said that stepping into the shoes of Karisma Kapoor was "not possible".

"She is an iconic star. She redefines the nineties for most audiences. So I don't think I have even attempted to step into her shoes. Of course, it is a remake and comparisons are inevitable. Up until now, I was so much more focused on bringing something new to the table. Everything is kind of tweaked to make it more today," she had said.
