Everyone has a responsibility to mitigate climate change, including NGOs, individuals, industries, etc. The need of the hour is a change in lifestyle. Water conservation is an important issue and will need to be practised. One has to increasingly depend on solar power for energy needs. The government will have to think on various means to protect green cover, especially the bio-diversity hotspot—the Western Ghats. People should be encouraged to use public transport system and the system has to be super efficient. Modes of mass transportation such as Metro should be implemented as early as possible. Measures must be taken to reduce the burning of fossil fuel and carbon trade. The growth of Bangalore should be well thought-out and should not be haphazard.
