Attaching delicate parts like the jewels is the second-last step in Ganesha making. After this, the idols are left for drying so that they are ready for painting. However, S Nanjundappa uses only silver and golden paint to highlight the God’s jewellery while other artists paint the entire idol with a variety of colours.
