The making of Ganesha
Published: Thursday, Sep 9, 2010 on 12:10 IST

It's that time of the year again, when homes smell of delicious modaks, the city's streets look bright and colourful and clay artisans get busy shaping the God of joy and Happiness - Ganesha.

The Hindu God's cuddly proportions are a delight for artists and sculptors as they get to experiment with the shape and design.

DNA's A Veeramani and Nidhi Bhushan spend a day in Pottery Town where thousands of Ganesha idols are being readied by artists ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi on Saturday.
