City subways remain unused, abused

Bangalore's legendary traffic woes are not unknown to its administrators, which is why they may find it difficult to explain away the plight of its subways.

Irksome presence

At the Majestic subway, a sex-worker (in the photograph) is on the lookout for clients. “For ladies like us, using this subway is difficult because of the presence of sex-workers. Many a times, strangers and drunkards look at us demeaningly. I find it a frightening experience,” says Bhagya, a housewife.
