The BBMP said that 123 shops at Russell Market were gutted. On Sunday, the BBMP included 10 more shops to the list. BBMP’s deputy commissioner (estate) Muzibulla Zafari said the market’s damaged portion would be reconstructed.

Zafari added that for the time being, temporary shops would be provided to the 133 vendors near the market. Further, he said the compensation to the vendors would depend on the value of the goods destroyed.
