Sirajin Basha, the advocate whose charges against BS Yeddyurappa have landed the former chief minister in trouble, has appealed to the Karnataka high court to cancel the bail given to the BJP leader’s kith and kin.

Basha has filed a case in the high court in this regard. He has sought cancellation of the bail given to Yeddyurappa’s sons, BY Raghavendra and BY Vijayendra, his son-in-law Sohan Kumar and BJP MLA D Hemachandra Sagar. Basha has alleged that the former chief minister’s sons, son-in-law and the MLA enjoy the same political clout as him and may influence the witnesses and tamper the evidence.

The advocate alleged that Sagar has been involved in the business ventures of Yeddyurappa’s kin and is as guilty as Krishnaiah Setty, Yeddyurappa’s aide who was denied bail by the Lok Ayukta court on the grounds that he could influence the witnesses by wielding his political reach, thereby impeding the fair trial of the case.

The case will come up for hearing in the high court on Thursday. Yeddyurappa and his kin are in the dock over the cases wherein Basha has accused them of colluding to illegally denotify land, by abusing the office of the chief minister and resulting in immense monetary benefit to them, their associates and family.
