Yeddyurappa didn’t spend a minute in his prison cell

Former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, who was supposed to bide his time in Parappana Agrahara central jail from Saturday evening, did not even enter his prison cell as he landed up in a hospital instead, it is revealed.

He reached the jail about 5.30pm on Saturday and was directly taken to the jail hospital. After medical check-up, he was to be taken to cell number five in the special security block. But, the police said, he met his advocates, family members and some ministers. When the medical check-up was over, he complained of chest pain. A police officer said he was then kept in the jail hospital till late night and the two doctors at the jail had a tough time until he was taken to Jayadeva hospital.

About 7pm, Yeddyurappa’s daughter brought food for him from home. However, he did not have it until late night. Also, at night, he complained of difficulty in speaking. About 11pm, the jail doctors told senior police officers that the former CM could be taken to his cell but then Yeddyurappa complained of serious health complications. He asked for biscuits and bread for dinner and was given. Both he had only biscuits.
