The latest bouts between chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and the Reddy brothers shows the former regaining the upper hand.
The rebel leader and tourism minister Janardhana Reddy faces the CBI scanner over his mining activities, and the opposition is baying for his ouster from the ministry. He also seems subdued especially after coming under fire from the Andhra government. With an eye on the civic polls, the BJP high command has put its might behind Yeddyurappa. This was evident from central leaders like Ananth Kumar preventing Reddys’ ploys on Wednesday to oust Yeddyurappa’s man, Basavaraj Bommai, from the newly-constituted core co-ordination committee. Reddys were demanding Bommai’s ouster from the ministry itself. Yet, he gets to continue on the committee, which goes in favour of Yeddyurappa.
