He was the only student this year to opt out of summer placements 2010 at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B). Abhishek Humbad, a first-year student of the post-graduate programme, chose to work on his own start-up NextGen Project Management Systems (Next Gen PMS) instead.
“The motive of the summer internship is to make us get real-life work experience. I could gain this by working on my start-up. Considering we have five Fortune 500 companies as clients and offices in Delhi and Hong Kong, I could benefit from working in my own company,” he said.
