Come December and people heading to the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) will have a gift in store. The cost of the monthly passes issued for Vayu Vajra buses to BIA will be reduced by Rs250. “Earlier, the monthly pass was priced at Rs1,500 but from December 1, people can secure this pass for Rs1,250,” said Transport Minister, R Ashok, after inaugurating the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation’s revamped website — www.bmtcinfo.com — at the BMTC’s Central Office on Saturday.
He said this was an initiative to popularise Vayu Vajra bus services in the city.
The website, with a user-friendly interface, provides necessary information about buses in Bangalore. It has been divided into tabs with some of them providing information on bus routes in the city, different passenger fare structures and commuter passes for different types of services that BMTC caters to. “This website is just another step to encourage commuting by bus in Bangalore, making it easier for people to find information from a single source,” said Syed Zameer Pasha, MD of BMTC.
Present among the guests were Gaurav Gupta, Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and N Sivasailam, Managing Director, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
