Representatives of Duncan Solutions, United States, gave a presentation on automated parking system to the city administrators on Wednesday.

Mayor Shardamma, opposition leader M Udayshankar, BBMP commissioner MK Shankarlinge Gowda and chairmen and office-bearers of the BBMP’s standing committees saw the presentation, which suggested how to address the city’s parking woes. The three-member team, lead by Subramanya, gave the presentation, claiming that their new product would reduce human involvement in managing vehicle parking.

The team highlighted that Bangalore is wilting under the problem of lack of parking space—people are parking wherever they find space, parking cars on footpaths or roads, thereby creating problems for pedestrians and commuters alike. The team said the new parking facility would solve all the problems. During mayor Shardamma’s visit to New York earlier this year, the company had given a demonstration of automated parking system.

After the presentation, the BBMP commissioner said that to address the city’s parking problems, the Palike has framed a policy, which would be tabled in the impending council meeting.
