Two persons were seriously injured when rowdy groups clashed at the JP Nagar 2ndA bus stop on Thursday night. Identifying the injured persons as Pragatipur residents Ramachandra (26) and Ananth (27), police said that the clash happened after the gangs, which allegedly indulge in extortion, had a misunderstanding over territorial issues.

It was around 11:30 pm that the accused – Chinnamma alias Stalin, Guru, Prashanth and Appu – attacked the two with lethal weapons. According to a complaint lodged by Ramachandra's friend Chandra at the JP Nagar police station, he and his friend, Babu, had reached the bus stop only to find the gang attacking their associates. However, the assailants fled upon seeing them. While Ramachandra, employed at a video parlour, was rushed to Victoria Hospital, Ananth, a cab driver, was taken to a private hospital, police said.
