Three more take the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike poll plunge

On Tuesday, the second day to file nominations, three persons put in their lot for the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections. One person had filed his nomination on the first day.

M Manjunath filed his nomination as a candidate of the Bharatiya Praja Party from ward no 106 (Dr Rajkumar ward). Independents V Venkatesh and R Gunashekhara filed their nominations from ward nos 176 (BTM Extension) and177 (JP Nagar), respectively.
The last date for filing nominations is March 15.

The parties, meanwhile, have got down to brass tacks. The youth would get special preference, KPCC president RV Deshpande said, adding that those with criminal record will not be allowed tickets.

The first list of Congress candidates will be released on March 11. The JD(S) also has completed the process of receiving applications,and is likely to announce its first liston March 12. However, the ruling BJP is waiting for rivals to announce their lists first, before announcing its own list of candidates.
