Two men were arrested by the Parappana Agrahara police on Saturday for allegedly stealing biscuits from Britannia factory; wafers worth Rs25 lakh were recovered from them. While the accusedVijay Singh Rathod, 24, and Dattu Ankush Daskar, 21, are behind bars, two men, Bhoopendar Singh and Moulana, have absconded.

The police said that Britannia had sought the services of KPS Logistics Company, based in Singsandra, to transport 2,538 boxes of biscuitsfrom its factory in Nelamangala to Madurai in Tamil Nadu. KPS Logistics hired two container lorries from BR Roadlines for the shipment.

As soon as the vehicles left KPS Logistics premises, the drivers removed the SIM cards from their mobile phones. The vehicles headed towards Dindigul, instead of Madurai, and the consignment was unloaded at a godown there.

KPS Logistics manager Kumar felt suspicious on not being able to contact the drivers on their mobile phones. He immediately filed a complaint. Assistant commissioner of police (Madiwala sub-division) formed a team. After getting tip-offabout the stolen goods being kept in Dindigul, they rushed to the spot and seized them. They arrested BR Roadlines supervisor Vijay and driver Dattu.
