Four persons committed suicide in different incidents in the city on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

In the first incident, a couple allegedly committed suicide in Guddadhahalli on Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Shruti and Thimmegowda.

Police said that the couple was survived by a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and not everything was fine between the two who were married three years ago.

Thimmegowda, who was working as a driver with a travel agency, came to his house on Wednesday night and to his shock found his wife hanging from the roof.

He called Shruti’s parents in Kokkere Bellur and informed them about their daughter’s extreme step. In the meantime, Thimmegowda, upset by his wife’s suicide, hanged himself to death from the same dupatta, which Shruti had used.

Later, when Shruti’s parents tried to call Thimmegowda, there was no response. Suspecting something amiss, they reached Bangalore on Thursday morning only to find their daughter lying dead, and their son-in-law hanging from the roof.

Shruti’s parents told police  that Shruti and Thimmegowda used to fight often over money.  Police suspect that this might be the reason for Shruti’s suicide. Thimmegowda resorted to the same step fearing police action.
