If you are a travel buff and keen on exploring south India’s historic and scenic spots in the lap of luxury, hop on to the state’s luxury express train, Golden Chariot. The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), in association with its counterparts in the neighbouring states, is launching a Southern Circuit trip in Golden Chariot soon.

This is not all. The corporation will also introduce Silver Chariot, an AC Volvo bus, meant for tourists who cannot afford Golden Chariot. This service will take you to the same spots in the state as Golden Chariot.

The KSTDC will officially launch the services in March.

The first trip under the Southern Circuit will be flagged off on March 15, and Silver Chariot will hit the road on March 8.

The Southern Circuit package, a two-week- long trip, will take tourists across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Goa.

Speaking to DNA, KSTDC managing director Vinay Luthra, said, “This seems to be a hit among foreign tourists even before its launch. We have already received 30 foreign bookings for the maiden Southern Circuit tour.”

Silver Chariot will take tourists on a seven-day trip. The package, including the accommodation, sight-seeing and food, will cost Rs22,000. The stay will be arranged in KSTDC and private three-star hotels, besides those belonging to JLR Properties.
