Hubli: The Karnataka Youth Congress President Krishna Byregwoda today flayed the BJP government for "neglecting" development works in the flood-hit districts in the wake of political crisis triggered by that party's dissidents demand for change in leadership.

"In the internal tussle between chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and his cabinet colleagues, all the development works in the state have been totally neglected and have come to a grinding halt", he told reporters here.

Byregowda alleged that relief and rehabilitation works in North Karnataka, which was worst-ravaged by the recent floods, had "come to a standstill and it is people who are the sufferers". He alleged that "Operation Lotus through which BJP had come to power using money and muscle power had backfired on Yeddyurappa".

Byregowda accused BJP of"deceiving the people of Karnataka especially the farmers".
