Parental opposition on marriage leads hotel supervisor to commit suicide

A 25-year-old supervisor of a hotel committed suicide on Friday after his parents objected to his affair with a 17-year-old girl.
Alagu Murugan, a resident of 6th Cross, Kasuvanahalli, was in love with the girl, a native of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, who is studying in a college in the city. He was in love with the girl for the past two years.  After coming to know about the affair, Murugan’s parents warned him, as the girl was a minor. But Murugan continued to remain in contact with the girl.

Murugan was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his bedroom around 8.15 am. He was rushed to Mohan Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead. Police said Murugan spoke to his girlfriend over the phone on Friday morning before taking the extreme step.

Murugan was living in his uncle’s house, while his mother, brother and sister lived in Tamil Nadu. One of his brothers works in Dubai. His body was handed  to his family after post-mortem in Victoria Hospital. A case has been registered in HSR Layout police station.
