Bangalore: In a new twist to the sensational triple murder case, police arrested a realtor who masterminded the killings out of "sheer jealousy" rather than monetary gains, a top police official said today.
With this four persons have been arrested in the case. Ramesh (45), a realtor, was arrested two days ago. It was he who hired the killers to do away with his tenant Rahul Das with whom he was not on good terms because of his (Ramesh) friendliness towards Pushpa Latha Das (Rahul Das' wife)", deputy commissioner ofpolice (East Division) Chandrashekar told PTI.
The hired killers had to kill even Pushpa Latha and their daughter Agneesha as they became witnesses to Das's murder, he said. The three were suffocated to death. Three persons, including Das's former employee, were arrested on October 29.
Though it appeared to be murder for gain since the killers had stolen Rs2.5 lakh worth of gold ornaments, it was actually sheer jealousy, Chandrashekar said.
