On inauguration day, Metro may affect Bangalore's traffic movement

Thursday is the day when the chief minister, Union ministers, state cabinet ministers, VIPs and a large number of people will welcome the ‘Namma Metro’.

Thursday is the day when the chief minister, Union ministers, state cabinet ministers, VIPs and a large number of people will welcome the ‘Namma Metro’. Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground will be choc-a-bloc with the who’s who of the state.

However, on the downside, the traffic in and around the area will be hit and slow down at most places. Citizens must take note of movement and parking restrictions. Movement and parking of all vehicles on MG Road (both sides from Cauvery Arts & Crafts Emporium to Anil Kumble Circle) is prohibited from 6am to 4pm.

Parking of vehicles on Brigade Road from Cauvery Arts & Crafts Emporium to Opera Circle is prohibited from 6am to 4pm.
Parking of vehicles is prohibited on both sides of Kamaraja Road, and between MG Road and Cubbon Road from 6am to 4pm. Parking of vehicles is prohibited on Church Street from 6am to 4pm.

Vehicles moving towards Anil Kumble Circle on MG Road should take a left turn at Cauvery Arts & Crafts Emporium circle, enter Brigade Road and take a right turn towards Church street and move towards Museum Road and St Mark’s Road.

Parking is provided for the chief minister’s cavalcade and Union ministers’ vehicles behind the function place in Manekshaw Parade Ground. Entrance is through gate No.2 on Cubbon Road. Parking for VIP and media vehicles is on the northern side of the Manekshaw Parade Ground. The entrance is through gate No. 3 on Cubbon Road.

Parking for public vehicles is on the southern side, behind fort wall, for which the entrance is through gate No.4 on Kamaraja Road.

You can also park vehicles in Shivajinagar BMTC complex parking lot and at Shivajinagar Corporation School Ground.

Police officials and Metro officials can park their vehicles in BRV parade grounds.

Parking is also provided on Kamaraja Road between
Cubbon Road and Dickenson Road junction, in front of Army Public School.
