With KR Puram tahsildar Shivakumar CL engrossed in the administrative training programme, Hennur police are yet to take action against the filtered sand mafia.
It may be recalled that some miscreants have been indulging in iilegal filtering of sand for the last four months. After receiving a tip-off, Shivakumar raided a sand filteringunit and seized the vehicles, but released those vehicles as per the directive of a politician. Now, the filtering of sand continues. G Prabhakar, circle inspector, Hennur police station, said he had already informed the tahsildar about it. Shivakumar said that he has been busy with the training .
"I will be available only on Friday. I will be in a position to initiate the necessary action," he said.
