While Bangalore celebrated Royal Challengers’ big Ugadi win over Punjab, our legislators were sulking after they were refused VIP treatment at the ChinnaswamyStadium on Tuesday. ‘The organisers have insulted us by giving us the lowest priced Rs49 denomination tickets(pass) as against the usual practice of VIP passes. This is just not done,” said JD(S) leader Nada Gouda.
The angry legislators took up the issue in the legislative council on Wednesday, demanding action against the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
The legislators alleged that the KSCA had turned the government land into a business organisation, they had no interest to develop cricket and that they were only interested in making more money. “The shabby treatment it has meted out to legislators by issuing them cheap passes is insulting,” Gouda said. The members even wanted a legislature panel formed to probe the affairs of KSCA.
