Ayurveda is a complete science in itself which has various cures and solutions. But the need of the hour is to validate and practise this science, said Ramachandra Gowda, medical education minister.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a two-day long national seminar on Ayurvedic neutraceutical research and brainstorming session, organised by the Regional Research Institute on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder, Art of Living, said: “Our age old practices have scientific implications behind it. For example, consuming a spoonful ghee with steamed rice has always been in practice in India. The logic is ghee slows down the conversion process of rice to carbohydrate, thus allowing the food to get well absorbed in the body.”
