Lovestruck couple still in hospital

A 20-year-old youth and his minor lover, who allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison and went to the police commissioner’s office on Thursday evening, are still undergoing treatment at Bowring Hospital.

Unable to get parents’ consent, the minor girl eloped with her lover. The two got married in Hyderabad. They took the extreme step after returning to the city.

The boy has been identified as Manju, 21, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar. A case of attempt to suicide has been registered in Cubbon Park police station.
