Dasarahalli  MLA S Muniraju has approached the high court, seeking an order to set aside the Lok Ayukta special court’s order to investigate a private complaint against him.

The Lok Ayukta court, on November 2, directed the Lok Ayukta police to file an investigation report regarding a private complaint against Muniraju and submit it on November 19.  Justice NK Sudhindra Rao ordered the police to investigate the matter under section 156(3) and directed Lok Ayukta superintendent of police (Bangalore Urban) to head the probe.

Muniraju has been accused of land-grabbing. The complainant, Puttuswamy, alleged that his mother-in-law Malamma was granted 1 acre 15 guntas of land in Kereguddadhahalli in the 1980s.

But Muniraju misused his powers to claim the property.

Puttuswamy then approached the high court.

The high court ruled that the land belonged to Malamma.

Puttuswamy, in his complaint, claimed that irrespective of the court’s order, Muniraju used his influence of the local tahsildar and others to create trouble for Malamma.

Muniraju contended that Malamma had filed a similar complaint and the case had been closed.
