Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa owns 27.35 acres of land in Shimoga district, Rs33.37 lakh in various bank accounts, 2.5kg of gold and diamond jewellery.

Amid a torrent of allegations of land scams against him, Yeddyurappa declared his assets and liabilities, saying he has just one piece of property in Bangalore in the form of a house at RMV Second Stage. It also rebuts the opposition charge by stating that he has not purchased any new immovable property after becoming chief minister. The statement has been submitted to BJP national president Nitin Gadkari. It shows Yeddyurappa owning 18 acres of agricultural land at Shikaripur in Shimoga district, while another piece of 9.12-acre land at Shiralakoppa in Shikaripur was converted for industrial purpose in December 2008, after becoming chief minister, though these properties were purchased before he became CM. His house at RMV layout in Bangalore is on a plot 50ft X 80ft allotted by BDA in 1997 and built in 1999, and owns residential properties in Shikaripur too. He does not own any vehicle, as the Contessa and Scorpio SUV he had were sold recently. He has 2,596 gms of gold and diamond jewellery, some received as gifts. He also has 76kg of silverware vessels and ornaments. In all Yeddyurappa has 8 bank accounts with total deposits of Rs33.37 lakh and a life insurance policy of Rs1.70 lakh and no liabilities. The statement shows that all property details had been submitted to EC, the Lokayukta and I-T department.
