Karnataka budget session cut short due to civic polls

The ongoing budget session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly has been cut short by a week following elections to the city civic body, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike on March 28.

The session that commenced on February 25 was scheduled to conclude on March 26. It will now end on March 19.

The decision on curtailing the session was announced in the Assembly by speaker KG Bopaiah after a meeting of the business advisory committee of the House.
