Banglore: Expecting no let-up by the Reddy brothers, the BJP top brass is gearing up for disciplinary action against them, taking the risk of dissolving the house. The rebel camp of about 60 MLAs has also threatened to quit en masse on Friday if the party high command does not relent on the change of leadership issue. Sources said 41 MLAs have already sent their resignations to Janardhana Reddy.
Anticipating this scenario, both the camps are in touch with JD(S) to bolster numbers to form an alternative government.
BJP sources said the former chief minister has responded positively to ensure the survival of chief minister BS Yeddyurappa's government as the HD Deve Gowda family has scores to settle with the Reddys for tarnishing Kumaraswamy's image with allegations of a Rs150 crore mining scam in 2006.
However, the Reddys, too, have approached the JD(S) for the same purpose. They have also approached the Congress, which prefers them to walk out of the government first, before taking its decision. The Reddys are ensuring that they have an adequate number of MLAs with them. With JD(S) having 27 MLAs, whichever camp has at least 80 MLAs on its side may come out winner to form an alternative government.
