Miscreants on Saturday fled with Rs6.5 lakh that was kept inside a car parked in front of the State Bank of India branch at Chandra Layout.

Ramesh, 46, a resident of Skyline Apartment in Chandra Layout, in his complaint, stated that the bag was stolen from his car when he had gone to SBI building to withdraw cash.

Ramesh had earlier withdrawn Rs6.5 lakh from Canara Bank in Vijayanagar, after which he headed to the SBI branch to withdraw additional Rs1.5 lakh.

Once that was done, he got back to his car only to find its window pane broken and the money missing. He started quizzing the nearby shopkeepers and auto-drivers.

But nobody had a clue. Ramesh immediately rushed to the police station and filed a complaint.

Ramesh is a building contractor and he was on his way to the construction site at Bidadi to pay the workers, when the incident happened.

The police have formed a team to nab the culprits.
