G Ananda Ramu has been leading a life of dual identity with two voter ID cards and two pan cards.

According to documents available with DNA, Ramu got the passport and residence certificate in the name of G Aravind. He flew to Dubai twice with the passport bearing number J1399101. The second time he claimed himself to be a businessman. The visa for his second trip was valid till April 28, 2012. Interestingly, he got his passport in a fake name by clearing the police verification process.

Ramu has two PAN cards—one in the name of G Ananda Ramu with number AHGPA5299Q, and the other as G Aravind with number AIKPT5686E, and two voter identity cards—one in the name of G Anand Ram (name misspelled) s/o Govindappa bearing number KT/12/099/205632 and another in the name of G Aravind, s/o Govindappa.

He has two bank accounts under different names. While the account with IDBI Bank is in the name of G Aravind, the one with Karur Vysya Bank (Tumkur) is in that of Ananda Ramu. Ramu’s driving licence, issued in 2005, is in the name of G Ananda Ramu.
He recently secured a fake transfer certificate bearing number 04/1986 from the government higher primary school in Channahalli in Tumkur. N Vijay, who was cheated by Ramu, said: “When I contacted the school authorities, they said no one with the name of Aravind studied in the school in that year.”
Ramu also took a residence certificate from the tahsildar’s office in Hoskote in the name of G Aravind. The certificate, issued on April 15, 2010, states that Aravind has been staying in Hoskote for four years.

According to the birth certificates of his daughters, his name is G Ananda Ramu while that of his wife is Sujatha. In an affidavit he submitted along with the application for his wife’s passport, she changed her name to Sujatha after the marriage.

Vijay has been trying to register an FIR with various police stations but failed to do so. “I went to Hoskote and Banaswadi police stations but they just received the complaint and did not register the FIR, saying the incident did not occur under their jurisdiction,” Vijay said. He filed a complaint with police commissioner BG Jyothiprakash Mirji on June 26, 2012, and superintendent of police (Bangalore Rural) D Prakash and deputy commissioner of police (east) TG Krishna Bhat on June 26.

Vijay also paid `10 lakh to Ramu when the latter requested for money to get an operation done for his wife. He did not return that amount too. According to Vijay, Ramu also allegedly threated to kill investors if they tried to file complaints against him with the police.
