Former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu’s son and BBMP corporator, Katta Jagadish, has sought bail in the Lok Ayukta special court on the grounds that his father is seriously ill and he needs to take care of his father since he is the only son.

Naidu, Jagadish and Srinivas, MD of ITASKA Software Company, are facing charges of irregularities in land allotment at BK Halli village to the software company floated by Naidu’s aide. The Lok Ayukta court, on October 26, extended the judicial custody of Jagadish until November 26.

Jagadish, in his bail plea, said that he is the only son and his father’s medical condition is critical. He said Naidu requires treatment at the Royal Free Hampstead Hospital in London. Jagadish said he has to accompany his father to London. Also, Jagadish said his mother, too, is ill. He highlighted that his parents needed his assistance. Furthermore, he added that his two-year-old son needs his care and attention.

The case was heard by Justice NK Sudhindra Rao. The special public prosecutor for Lokayukta, Pramod Chandra, sought time until November 26 to file objections in the case. Justice Rao has adjourned the case to November 26.

Earlier, Naidu had sought bail on medical grounds. The court had denied his bail but had permitted him to seek treatment in the country under the jail authorities’ supervision.

He had then knocked on the high court’s doors on October 31 and the court granted him conditional bail on medical grounds. Naidu had contended that he wanted to undergo treatment at Royal Free Hampstead Hospital in London.
