The house of a software engineer in Rajarajeshwari Nagar was robbed by unidentified burglars. The thieves decamped with gold jewellery and silver articles worth Rs12 lakh when he and his family were away from home on Friday.
The incident came to light after Hariharan, a techie with Dell, and a resident of Ideal Homes in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, returned from his father’s house at about 10.45 pm on Friday. According to the police, Hariharan left his house around 12.45pm on Friday. He went to meet his father in Whitefield. He returned home to find the valuables missing from the house.
His things were scattered all around the house. He rushed to the bedroom and found that the wardrobes were broken open and damaged.
He contacted the police immediately. The dog squad and fingerprint experts were summoned. Hariharan said that gold jewellery and silver articles worth Rs12 lakh, including Rs5,000 cash, was stolen from the house. Investigation is on.
Preliminary probe revealed that the thieves entered the house through the back gate after breaking the window grills. The police have collected three fingerprints from the spot. The police are hopeful that the fingerprints will helpnab the culprits.
