An idea, a partner and self-confidence—once you have these three in place, you can possibly become a millionaire, pointed out Australian business gurus, Jeff Slayter and Kane Minkus, who were in the city on Monday.
Slayter and Minkus are the founders of the Industry Rockstar System, a consultancy firm wherein they travel across the world training aspiring entrepreneurs and industry professionals. “Ideas by themselves are not worth anything. Everyone has an idea for a business but we should know how to capitalise it. While approaching capital investors for a business you have already started, you have to make sure you seem more credible and more successful. You need to show them your resources and customers, otherwise why would they invest,” asked Kane Minkus.
The duo was also more than willing to share industry ‘cheats’ in starting a business on low capital. “It starts with the idea, and you get yourself a business partner. The next step is to find someone with the technological know-how, who will be willing to create a platform for you for free but get part ownership in the company,” said Minkus. “You have to be dumb to be smart. Many smart people find different ways of complicating a simple solution and we have seen that a lot in India. The key is to just go ahead and do whatever you want to do,” said Minkus.
