BANGALORE: Gang war has once again surfaced in the city. And gangster Diwan Ali is again a suspect.

A car-borne gang attacked Sadiq Pasha (35), a private water supply operator from Adugodi and hacked him to death on Thursday evening near South end circle.

Pasha had come to a nursing home on KR Road to meet his friend Sarveshan’s father at about 5.30 pm. Eyewitnesses said that as Pasha came out of the nursing home and was getting into his vehicle a gang led by Rahim alias Kaalu attacked the duo with choppers and machetes. The assailants escaped in a car bearing registration No. KA02P 8430,  eyewitnesses said

Sadiq was profusely bleeding and died on the way to hospital. Chandru’s condition is serious.

Police said Sadiq was wanted in connection with a case in Koramangala. In 2005, a case of trespassing and holding threat was also registered against him at Adugodi.

Police are investigating to see if he was involved in organised criminal gangs. They said the assailants were his close friends. Police suspect that the murder might have been committed at the behest of Diwan Ali, a rowdy element who is suspected to murder a police informer in Banashankari early this month.
