All it takes is five Cs to put a child in school, give a senior citizen a home or a poor family a skill to build their lives, according to the organisers of the 12th 5Cs (Corporate Citizenship Challenge for the Cause of Children).

The 5Cs is a one-day sports event that will bring together corporations from all over Bangalore. Sixty percent of the proceeds will go to the Concerned India Foundation, which works with the disadvantaged to help them become self-reliant by supporting them in education, health aspects as well as community development.

According to Jaswinder Ahuja, MD, Cadence Design Systems, the idea originated from the fact that many employees, despite their heavy schedules, found time to spend with the disadvantaged, be it teaching children over the weekend or spending a few hours every week with senior citizens.

The 12th 5Cs will see more than 15 companies competing with each other in various games such as soccer, basketball, throw ball, cricket, table tennis, badminton and mini-marathon.

Companies that will be taking part include NXP, AMD, SanDisk and Intel, among others. The event is scheduled to be held on February 11 at Clarks Exotica Resort.
