Banglore: An unidentified young woman was found dead near the Marathahalli overbridge on Friday morning.

While the traffic police suspect that she might have been murdered, the law and order personnel think she was killed in an accident.

Police said passersby found the body of the woman, aged between 20 and 25, on the service road around 5 am, and informed the HAL traffic police. She was wearing a red and yellow churidar.

The traffic cops reached the scene, and on suspicion that she had been murdered, summoned the law and order police. After finding bruises on her hands, the law and order police surmised that she had died in an accident. Besides bruises, the back of the head as well as the eyebrows sported injuries, police said, adding that the cause of death would be revealed in a post-mortem examination.

Meanwhile, a man living in a nearby shack expressed the suspicion that the body could be of his sister Ranjitha, who went missing on Thursday night. However, after inspecting the body, the man confirmed that it was not his sister.

The traffic police later registered a hit-and-run case.
